Martha was born about 1815 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1   Martha's father was Daniel Or David Bloomer and her mother was Lucinda Defoe. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Nehemiah, Joseph, William, James D., Jesse Daniel, Mary, Elizabeth, Milly, Phoebe and Lucy.  She was the third youngest of the eleven children.
