Robert was born in 1845 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Robert's father was John Blevins and his mother was Minerva Kyle. His maternal grandparents were Absalom Kyle and Barsheba Whitehead Cobb. He had a brother and six sisters, named Kyle, Parolee, Sarah, Ann, Alice, Lady and Mary M.. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.-
