Maria was born on March 11th, 1811 in ,Rockingham, Virginia.1 Maria's father was John Beal and her mother was Eve Or Elizabeth Eberhardt. Her paternal grandparents were John Nicholas Beal and Maria Elizabeth Kuefer. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, George, Martin, Jacob, Frederick, Peter, David, Elizabeth, Katherine, Anna and Margaret Or Peggy. She was the third youngest of the twelve children.-
