Mary Ann Battle 
Mary Ann was born on March 16th, 1803 in North Carolina.1 Mary Ann's father was William Battle and her mother was Mary Ann Williams. Her paternal grandparents were John Battle and Sarah Browne; her maternal grandfather was John Williams. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Laurence, William, Larken, Alfred, Fred, Elizabeth Williams and Martha Williams. She was the youngest of the nine children.
