Laurence Battle

Laurence was born on March 20th, 1787 in North Carolina.¹ Laurence's father was William Battle and his mother was Mary Ann Williams. His paternal grandparents were John Battle and Sarah Browne; his maternal grandfather was John Williams. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Larken, Alfred, Fred, Elizabeth Williams, Martha Williams and Mary Ann. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
