Ann was born about 1804 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.1 Ann's father was Thomas Amos and her mother was Catherine Devore. Her paternal grandparents were Nicholas Day Amos and Christiana Ditto. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Nicholas, Mordecai, John Devore, Abraham Ditto, William Cook, Elizabeth, Harriet, Catherine and Christiana. She was the third youngest of the ten children.-
