John Amis 
John was born on April 5th, 1773 in ,Bladen, North Carolina.1 John's father was Thomas Amis and his mother was Alice Gale. His paternal grandparents were John Amis and Mary Dillard; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Whitney Gale and Mary Griffith. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Willis, Lincoln, Thomas Gale, Tabitha, Frances, Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel, Alice Gale and Penelope. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Haynes, William, James and Nancy. He died before 1818 in ,Clay, Kentucky.1 -
