Peter Eckert was born on February 3rd, 1853 in Lancaster Co., PA. Peter Eckert's father was William Mathias III Slaymaker and his mother was Mary Catharine Eckert. His paternal grandparents were William Mathias, Jr. Slaymaker and Elizabeth Ellmaker. He had two brothers and nine sisters, named William Mathias IV, George C. Eckert, Lucy Eckert, Elizabeth E., Jane Kinzer, Catherine Amanda, Caroline Augusta, Mary Ellen, Laura Georgia, Edith Iola and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 75 in 1928.General Notes
