William Mathias, Jr. was born on November 15th, 1786 in Lancaster Co., PA. William Mathias, Jr.'s father was William Mathias Slaymaker and his mother was Jane E. Slaymaker. His paternal grandparents were Mathias, Jr Slaymaker and Barbara Smith; his maternal grandparents were John Slaymaker and Elizabeth White. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Frederick W., Alexander J., Sample, Jane, Ann and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 61 on January 18th, 1848 in Lancaster Co., PA.General Notes
