Gilbert (John) was born about 1228 in Corby, Bourne,Lincolnshire Eng.. Gilbert (John)'s father was Hamon Pecche and his mother was Eve . His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Pecche Baron of Bourn and Alice Fitz Walter. He was an only child. He died on May 25th, 1291 in West Cliff, Dover, Kent, England.General Notes

I. 1. GILBERT PECCHE, 1st son by his father's 2nd marriage, was of legal age in April 1286. In October 1288 he was one of the hostages (Gascon and English) given by Edward to Alfonso of Aragon for the fulfilment of agreements. He was summoned for military service in Gascony 1294, and was there in January 1296/7; against the Scots, 1298-1302, and regularly under Edward II. He was summoned to
Parliament from 29 December 1299 to 14 March 1321/2, by writs directed Gilberto Pecche, whereby he is held to have become LORD PECCHE. His seal was affixed to the letter of the Barons to the Pope, February 1300/1. He was a knight in the summer of 1302, and a Knight of the Household of Edward I and Edward II. In June 1311 he was joint commissioner to treat with envoys of France as to matters in dispute under the Treaty of Montreuil (1299), and in 1314 and 1315 was employed as the King's agent or messenger to Gascony and Avignon. In 1316 he was a commissioner to hear a complaint in Suffolk; and
again, in Lincs, after his return from Gascony. He was appointed Seneschal of Gascony 18 July 1316. In 1321 he was ordered to abstain from the meeting of the "Good Peers" summoned by Thomas, Earl of
Lancaster, at Doncaster; and he was granted protection on going in the King's service to Wales January 1321/2. In the last months of his life he appears to have been Steward of the King's Household. He married Iseult, whose parentage has not been ascertained, and died shortly before 26 June 1322. His widow had dower, and was living in March 1331/2. [CP 10:336-7]
Lord of Bourn. He was a knight of the abbot of Bury and made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land before 1188. He became heir to the family estates at the death of his brother Geoffrey in the same year.
