Julia was born in 1851 in Orange Co NC. Julia's father was Frederick Williams and her mother was Nancy Cheek. Her paternal grandparents were David Williams and Lydia Workman; her maternal grandparents were James Robert Cheek and Martha "Patty" Estes. She had three brothers and five sisters, named James David, Thomas, David, Lydia, Nancy, Elizabeth, Susan and Mariah. She was the third youngest of the nine children.-
