Hinchea was born in 1751 in Lawrenceville Brunswick Co VA. Hinchea's father was John IV Barker and his mother was Elizabeth Gilliam. His paternal grandparents were John III Barker and Mary Mooring; his maternal grandparents were Hinchea II Gilliam and Faith Briggs. He had a brother and three sisters, named Howell, Mary, Susannah and Rebecca. He died at the age of 90 in 1841 in Lincoln Washington Co AR.General Notes
