Richard Whitaker 
Richard was born on December 31st, 1777 in , , NC. Richard's father was John Whitaker and his mother was Christian Benton. His paternal grandparents were Richard Whitaker and Elizabeth Cary; his maternal grandfather was Absalom Benton. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Eli Benton, James, John, Cary, Absalom Benton, Wilson Cary, Elizabeth, Martha and Margaret Green. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 20 in 1797.-
