John Whitaker 
John was born on May 12th, 1747 in Of, Halifax, NC. John's father was Richard Whitaker and his mother was Elizabeth Cary. His paternal grandparents were John Whitaker and Martha Gough; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Cary and Elizabeth Hinde. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Cary, Anne, Elizabeth, Temperance and Martha. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 69 on July 20th, 1816.-
