William Spears 
William was born in 1776 in North Carolina. William's father was Kindred Spears and his mother was Elizabeth Jones. His paternal grandparents were James Spears and Elizabeth Coker; his maternal grandfather was James Jones. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Willis, Nathan, Sarah and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the five children.-
