Martha Lavonia was born in By Johnsonville, Wayne, Illinois. Martha Lavonia's father was Giles Harrison Shehorn and her mother was Ammogine Horton. Her paternal grandparents were George Daniel Shehorn and Emily Harrison James; her maternal grandparents were Alphonzo Horton and Nancy Witter. She had three brothers and a sister, named James Franklin, John Henry, Abram Sampson and Marilla Isabelle. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Charles Arthur and Bertha Mae. She died on March 11th, 1949 in Pana, Christian, Illinois. She was buried in Tower Hill Cem., , Tower Hill, Shelby, Illinois.General Notes
