Nelson Northern

Nelson was born in 1838 in , Burke, N.C..  Nelson's father was Davis Northern and his mother was Sarah.  His paternal grandfather was Northern. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Ephraim, William, Ellender, Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.
