Joseph Northern

Joseph was born in 1829 in , Burke, N.C..  Joseph's father was Davis Northern and his mother was Sarah.  His paternal grandfather was Northern. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Ephraim, William, Nelson, Ellender, Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.
