Joseph Hitt 
Joseph was born in 1717 in Germanna, Fauquier, Virginia. Joseph's father was Peter Hitt and his mother was Elizabeth Otterbach. His paternal grandfather was Jacob Heite; his maternal grandparents were Hermann Otterbach and Otterbach. He had four brothers and a sister, named John, Henry, Harman, Peter and Mary Ann. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died in , , Virginia.-
