James Charles 
James was born about 1824 in , , Tennessee. James' father was Stephen K. Charles and his mother was Mary Knowles. His paternal grandparents were James J. Charles and Tabitha Senter. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Arlington J., John K., Tabitha, Sarah, Elizabeth, Cynthia Or Sintha M. and Mary A.. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died in 1897.-
