Henry was born about 1476 in Malzar, Northamptonshire, England. Henry's father was Nicholas Billing and his mother was Agnes Gilbert. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Billing and Catherine Giffard; his maternal grandfather was Stephen Gilbert. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Roger, William, John, Katherine and Agnes. He was the second youngest of the six children.-
