Riley was born in April 1888 in TN . Riley 's father was John H. COFFELT and his mother was Margaret Katherine "Kate ANDERSON . His paternal grandparents were Phillip COFFELT and Malinda CIRCY ; his maternal grandparents were Alexander P. ANDERSON and Mary F. GLEASON. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Christopher C , Irvin , Henry J , Phillip , John Wesley , Arthur , Walter, James and Nancy. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
