Susan was born on February 20th, 1752 in Jordan's Point,Prince George,VA. Susan's father was Richard (Jr) BLAND and her mother was Ann Abigale POYTHRESS. Her paternal grandparents were Richard (Col.) BLAND and Elizabeth RANDOLPH. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Richard III, Peter R. , Edward , John (Col.) , William (Rev.) , Theodorick , Elizabeth, Sarah , Ann Poythress, Mary and Lucy Atkinson .
