Johan Franz was born on November 29th, 1782. Johan Franz's father was Johannes Walker Jr. and his mother was Eva Christine Stocker. His maternal grandparents were Michael Stocker and Anna Margaretha Stephan. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named Johan Philip, John, Johan Jacob, Juliana Maria, Maria Magdalena, Maria Elizabeth, Anna Maria, Margaret, Susanna, Eva Catherine and Rosina. He was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.-
