John Sr. Toothman 
John Sr. was born on July 21st, 1779. John Sr.'s father was Johann Deterick Duchman and his mother was Barbara Rice. His paternal grandparents were Johann Christian Duchman and Anna Maria Hauser; his maternal grandparents were Andrew Rice and Elizabeth Unknown. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Johann Detrick Jr., Michael, George Washington, Christian, Christina, Sarah, Hannah , Maria Magdalena, Elizabeth and Mary . He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Adam F. , Andrew, William J, Sylvester, Catherine and Barbara. He died at the age of 97 on December 19th, 1876 in Bethel, Marion Co, WV.General Notes
James Fork Methodist church was torn down and a frame church was build. The deed for the new lot, recorded 6/8/1841, was made by JOhn Toothman and wife Sarah to Joseph Martin, Arthur Watson, John McDougal, JOhn Prichard, and Randolph Robey, as trustees (Bicentennial Church Histories of Marion County, pg 50) Note: Some show JOhn Sr. and Johann Deterick Jr. to be the same person.
John & Elizabeth were twins.
