William Tennant 
William was born in 1740. William's father was Richard (1st) Tennant and his mother was Janet Wark. His paternal grandparents were Robert Tennant and Mary J. Geisslar; his maternal grandparents were James Wark and Isobel Murray. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, Richard , David and Rebecca. He was the oldest of the five children.-
