John Tennant 
John was born about 1742 in Glasgow, Scotland. John's father was Richard (1st) Tennant and his mother was Janet Wark. His paternal grandparents were Robert Tennant and Mary J. Geisslar; his maternal grandparents were James Wark and Isobel Murray. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Richard , David and Rebecca. He was the second oldest of the five children.-
