Christian was born on February 24th, 1781. Christian's father was Andreas Stocker and his mother was Juliana Maria Watnert. His paternal grandparents were Michael Stocker and Anna Margaretha Stephan. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Johan Adam, Andrew, Daniel , Franz (Francis), Peter, Jacob, John Peter, Maria Elizabeth, Anna Maria, Eva Catherine, Rosanna and Elizabeth. He was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children.-
