Johan Adam was born on December 4th, 1773. Johan Adam's father was Andreas Stocker and his mother was Juliana Maria Watnert. His paternal grandparents were Michael Stocker and Anna Margaretha Stephan. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Andrew, Daniel , Christian, Franz (Francis), Peter, Jacob, John Peter, Maria Elizabeth, Anna Maria, Eva Catherine, Rosanna and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the thirteen children.-
