Cecilia was born in Bywell, Northamptonshire, England.1 Cecilia's father was John Regent of Scotland de Baliol and her mother was Devorguilla de Galloway MacDonald. Her paternal grandparents were Hugh de Baliol Baron Gainford and Cecily de Fontaines; her maternal grandparents were Alan MacDonald de Galloway Lord Galloway and Margaret le Scot. Sureties 1215 4th Edition by Weiss: They say that Cecil y Baliol was
the daughter of John Baliol & Devorguilla.
CP, Cokayne, (I-385- 6), clearly makes her a sister of Edward Baliol, son
of King John Baliol, and therefore a granddaughter of John and
Devorguilla.
