George Titus 
George was born on February 10th, 1777 in Boutetourt, Virginia.1 George's father was Ebenezer Titus and his mother was Rachel Matthews. His paternal grandparents were Timothy Titus and Elizabeth Blatchley; his maternal grandparents were John Matthews and Betty Ann Archer. He had a brother and two sisters, named James, Phoebe and Rachael. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother named Joseph. He died at the age of 85 on December 4th, 1862 in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas.1 General Notes

In 1812 , George was in Madison County, Mississippi. In 1830, he wa s on
the Boone County, Missouri Census. 7 Nov 1839
he received a land grant in Hunt County,Texas. In 1844 the Estate of
George Wright was settled in Boon e County,Missouri. In
1846, he was living with Peter Wright Titus in Fannin Co unty,Texas.
George is on the 1850 Fannin County Census. In 1853, a
Bill of S ale to Peter Wright Titus in Fannin County,Texas. George is on
the 1860 Cooke County,Texas Census.
The undersigned George Titus, a citizen of Fannin County , State of Texas
avers that he served as a soldier in the war between
the Un ited States and Great Britain declared by the U.S.A. AD 1812 under
Brigadier General John Coffee under Col Henry
Dyer in Capt Robert Evans Spy Company whic h services were rendered in
latter part of 1812 and 1813 for a term of four
months for which he was entitled to an honorable discharge but did not
apply for one and in consequence of which one was not
issued to him and that for sai d service he is entitled by the existing
laws of the United States of a Bount y Land Warrant of One
Hundred and Sixty acres for which this application to th e Commissioner of
Pensions, the 14th of August 1855.

County of Fannin, George Titus to me we ll known who being duly sworn
declares and saith upon oath that the matters a nd thing
