Laura Emra was born on September 24th, 1883 in Hempstead County, Arkansas.1 Laura Emra's father was William Jackson Hartsfield and her mother was Sarah Amanda O'Steen. Her paternal grandparents were Matthew Hartsfield and Mary Magdaline Holly; her maternal grandparents were William Lewis O'Steen and Josephine B Stewart. She had six brothers and three sisters, named William Rufus, Benjamin Alexander, John Sanders, Samuel Jackson, Ruie Brian, Olen Elree, Ora Mae, Nellie Amanda and Virgie Beatrice. She was the third oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 63 on September 3rd, 1947 in Hempstead County, Arkansas.1 General Notes
