Alfred Burman Garrett 
Alfred Burman was born on March 17th, 1885 in Blairsville, Warren Co., N.C.. Alfred Burman's father was Isaac Henry Garrett and his mother was Roxanna Johnson. His paternal grandparents were John Garrett and Mary Elizabeth (Polly) Osborn; his maternal grandparents were John R. Johnson and Modena Williams. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Charles Jefferson, Robert, LaMastin Alexander (Maston), William (Basco), George, Claude C., Luther Henry, Ofine K. (Fennie), Ethel, Dovie Jane and Nora. He was the second oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 91 on October 24th, 1976 in Barnsdall, Osage Co., Oklahoma. He was buried in Ethel Reece Chapel, Barnsdall, Oklahoma.General Notes
From Burman's obituary: Born in Blairsville he moved with his family to
Harpville, Ga. where he began his education, His family moved by covered
wagon to Dennison, Tex. where he completed his education. In 1907 he
farmed three years in Cullen, Indian Territory and moved to Pryor in
1910 and continued to farm and was Deputy Sheriff. In 1935 they moved
to Barnsdall and he was made Chief of police, he worked 17 years in
police and peace officer work. He was a member of the Barnsdall First
Baptist church. He was also law officer in the Cogar Ok. area before
his move to Pryor.
