Sir William de Ros VI Baron Ros 
Sir William de Ros VI was born in 1368.1 Sir William de Ros VI's father was Thomas de Ros Baron Ros and his mother was Beatrix de Stafford. His paternal grandparents were William de Ros IV Baron Ros and Margery de Badlesmere; his maternal grandparents were Sir Ralph de Stafford Earl of Stafford and Margaret de Audley Bss Audley. He was an only child. He died at the age of 46 on September 1st, 1414 in Belvoir. He was buried in 6th Lord de Ros. K.G..1 1 General Notes

Actually, Thomas (1336-1384) was the 4th Baron, and Wil liam (1368-1414)
was the 6th. See the second edition of Cokayne's *Complete Peerage*,
vol. XI, p. 95, note (h), referring to the summons of Robert (d. 12 85),
whom you are probably calling the first Baron, to Montfort's 1264
Parl iament: "In 1616 the Barony was allowed precedence from this writ, a
decision accepted by the Lords in 1806 ... ; but these writs, issued by
Simon in the K ing's name, are no longer regarded as valid for the
creation of peerages." T he Ros Barony is now dated from the summons of
William de Ros (d. 1316) in 12 99.
