Lieutenant in the 19th and 20th Regiments, U.S.A. in the war of 1812.
When last heard from John Goode was in New Orleans in 1815, having
received a commission from Gen. Simon Bolivar, "the liberarator," and was
about to sail for South America to take part in the struggle which led to
the establishment of the present governments of Venezuela and Columbia.
