James Allen was born about 1806. James Allen's father was Capt. John Nash Read and his mother was Elizabeth Fisher Nash. His paternal grandparents were Colonel Clement, Jr. Read and Mary Nash; his maternal grandparents were John Nash and Anna Tabb. He had a brother named Francis Nash.
