Elizabeth Fanny was born on December 2nd, 1799. Elizabeth Fanny's father was Capt. John Nash Read and her mother was Elizabeth Julia Spencer. Her paternal grandparents were Colonel Clement, Jr. Read and Mary Nash; her maternal grandparents were Sion Spencer and Mary Harris. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Dr. Clement Nash, Dr. John Harris "Jack", Major Sion Spencer, Martin James, Dr. Thomas Hill, Mary Harris 'Polly", Harriet James, Mary Hill "Polly", Lucia Flournoy, Harry Ann and Elizabeth Julia. She had six half-brothers and six half-sisters, named James Allen, Francis Nash, William Harrison, Edmund Randolph, Peter Finis Armistead, Nathaniel Barksdale, Martha Newell, Mary Sydnor, Nancy Garden, Sarah Wimbish Garden, Susan Katherine and Anne Elizabeth Margaret.General Notes
