Her paternal grandparents were Henry Pendleton and Elizabeth Douglas; her maternal grandparents were William Hurt and Margaret Lnu. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Edmond, Henry, James, John, Joseph, Phillip, William, Mary, Elizabeth, Isabelle and Catherine.-
