Thornton Meriwether 
Thornton was born on July 25th, 1824.1 Thornton's father was Richard Meriwether and his mother was Susan Fitzhugh Thornton. His maternal grandparents were Henry Francis Thornton and Ann Rose Fitzhugh(Bellair). He had two brothers and a sister, named George W., Anthony and Elizabeth. He had a half-brother named Richard. He died at the age of 43 in March 1868.1 General Notes
