Samuel was born on January 21st, 1767. Samuel's father was Samuel Jacob and his mother was Bethiah Olley. His paternal grandparents were Richard, Sr. Jacob and Hannah Howard; his maternal grandparents were Sebastian Olley and Elizabeth Hall. He had a brother and five sisters, named Joseph, Hannah, Ann, Sarah, Elizabeth and Susannah. He had a half-brother named Shadrick.-
