Louisa H. was born on September 18th, 1855. Louisa H.'s father was Frederick Edward Hughes and her mother was Mary Elizabeth Venable. Her maternal grandparents were Paul Carrington Venable and Emily Eaton Carrington. She had four brothers and a sister, named Paul Venable, George Venable, John Venable, Frederick Venable and Mary Belle. She was the third oldest of the six children.-
