Lydia was born on December 25th, 1654 in Barnstable, Massachussetts. Lydia's father was John Chipman and her mother was Hope Howland. Her maternal grandparents were John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Samuel, John, John, Elizabeth, Infant girl, Hope, Ruth, Bethiah, Hannah, Desire and Mercy. She died in Malden, Massachussetts.-
