Emma Jane was born on July 16th, 1866 in Mooresburg, Pulaski County, Indiana. Emma Jane 's father was William Kerr Murphy and her mother was Sarah Elizabeth Slane. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Hunt Murphey and Martha Barbara Kerr. She had a brother and two sisters, named Nathan Archibald, Martha Evaline "Mattie" and Mary Edith. She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers named Charles Earl "Charley" and Lesley Clyde. She died at the age of 23 on March 10th, 1890 in Mooresburg, Pulaski County, Indiana.General Notes
