Marilyn's K. Murphy's Notes & Collection of Obituaries and Newspaper Clippings:
Harrison Township had a very unexpected death Monday midnight. William K. Murphy, one of the oldest and best known residents of the county, fell while out on his farm about 10 o'clock Monday forenoon. He was carried to the house and a physician was summoned, but death resulted about fourteen hours later as stated, apoplexy being the cause. Mr. Murphy was born in Miami County, Ohio in May of 1835, making his age at death sixty-six years and six months. He came to this county in 1850 , and for fifty-one years has been known as one of its responsible farmer citizens. He was married in 1857 to Miss Sarah E. Shane. She died in 1873. In 1875 he married Miss Sarah C. Smith, and she died in 1885. He leaves four children, Nathan A. and Mattie by the first wife, and Charley and Lesley by the second. The funeral was from the Mooresburg M. E. church yesterday forenoon, services by Reverend Yount being followed by interment at the Mull cemetery.
