Rachel was born in 1756 in North Carolina.  Rachel's father was Benjamin Threasher and her mother was Elizabeth UNKNOWN.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Threasher and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. She had seven brothers and a sister, named Benjamin, John, Benjamine, Isaac, Richard, George, Robert and Elizabeth.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
