Benjamin was born in 1754 in North Carolina.  Benjamin's father was Benjamin Threasher and his mother was Elizabeth UNKNOWN.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Threasher and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Benjamine, Isaac, Richard, George, Robert, Elizabeth and Rachel.  He was the oldest of the nine children.
