St. Edith was born in 0897 in Wessex, England.1 St. Edith's father was Edward the Elder King of England and her mother was Ecgwyn of Wessex. Her paternal grandparents were Alfred the Great King of England and Ealhswith of the Gaini. She had a brother named Athelstan. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Aethelstan, Edmund I the Magnificent, Eadred, Edgiva, Eadgyth (Edith), Edhilda, Elgiva and Edgifu (Edgiva). She died at the age of 40 in 0937.1 -
