William was born in 1709 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.1   William's father was William Yard and his mother was Mary Tindall.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Yard and Mary Salisbury. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, John, Benjamin, Jethro, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 50 in 1759 in Trenton, Burlington, NJ.1
