Joseph was born in 1707 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.1   Joseph's father was William Yard and his mother was Mary Tindall.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Yard and Mary Salisbury. He had four brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Benjamin, Jethro, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 56 in 1763 in Trenton, Mercer, NJ.1
