Joseph Jost was born on March 1st, 1794 in Claverack, Columbia, NY.1 Joseph Jost's father was Johannes Pieter Stolp and his mother was Catrina Chrysler. His paternal grandparents were Johann Jost Stolp and Maria Sydonia; his maternal grandparents were Wilhemus Chrysler and Catherine Schauer. He had six brothers and a sister, named George, John, Frederick, William, Abram, Peter and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 95 on March 23rd, 1889 in Naperville, DuPage, IL. He was buried in West Aurora, Kane, IL.1 1 -
